“What I have recently learned about building meaningful and purposeful relationships in a community is that it begins by working alongside others who share the same vision and by building personal relationships with those reaching out for help—focusing on the person, not just the need. I connected with Love In the Name of Christ (Love INC) through taking a New Heights class, where I experienced firsthand how lives are changed when churches and volunteers come alongside those reaching out for help through Love INC’s “hand-up, not just a handout” approach. After completing the class, I felt a strong desire to become more involved. Serving in the Furniture Gap ministry and the Connection Center has been a true joy—especially listening to stories, offering encouragement and prayer, and hearing tension fade as peace takes its place. These moments remind me that God is at work, touching hearts and bringing transformation…in the name of Christ Jesus.”
